Product Review: Clarins Lisse Minute Instant Smooth

I’ve said it enough times for everyone to know I have oily skin. Which is a by-product of having enlarged pores. This means a lot of my skin care focussed especially on managing oily skin to I don’t get breakouts and constantly trying to find new ways to keep my pores uncongested and to ‘appear’ smaller. Notice I say ‘appear’, it’s not possible to actually shrink genetically determined pore size. You’re born with it and blessed with it, so embrace it and learn to deal with it.

The product isn’t new to me, but it has recently come back into my life. Things come and go out of my make up box on a weekly basis so I must have thought I’d discovered something new, when I tossed this to one side. Anywho, it’s re-appeared.

Now, for people who are focussed on product ingredients and are looking for the natural route you will frown upon this product. Stop reading now.

It is JAM PACKED with SILICONES.

However, it is the silicones that provide the smooth soft lens finish I like. And it is instant.  I put it on after my cleansing routine, before make up and my pores appear so much smaller. For me, it fulfills its brief and this is all I ask for. It’s also oil free.

A soft pink colour. Very smooth to touch. Almost powdery.

Point to note though which I discovered on first use, it is not a mattifier. It is a temporary skin smoother, which is only effective until you wash it off.  Also when I use this product, I make sure I do an extra special DOUBLE cleanse. Its full of chemicals so for me it makes sense for me to clean my face well and open my pores to release any potential clogging ‘cones.

Oh, there’s a paraben in there too.
